The short version. Your audio is recorded and transcribed on your Mac and is never uploaded. On Pro, the transcript text is sent, encrypted, to write your summary in the cloud, and isn’t kept on our servers. Your meetings are never used to train any AI. We keep only what we need to run your account, plus usage statistics and error reports that never include meeting content.
Who is responsible
Huri Sosa Corro, Plutarco Elías Calles 999, C.P. 03550, Benito Juárez, Ciudad de México, México, is responsible for your personal data in Naro. Contact: hello@trynaro.com.
1. What stays on your Mac
- Audio. Recorded and transcribed on your Mac, never uploaded. It’s deleted 7 days after the summary by default; you can change that in Settings.
- Transcripts, summaries, to-dos and your notes. Saved on your Mac.
- Voiceprints. Only if you turn on “Remember voices”. They’re stored only on your Mac, never sent anywhere, and you can delete one person or all of them in Settings › Voices. Your own voice is never saved.
- On Basic, summaries are written on your Mac too.
2. What leaves your Mac
For cloud features (Pro and the free trial). To write a summary, a follow-up, the context of a to-do, or to answer a question about a project, Naro sends the meeting’s transcript text and the context you added: your name, role and preferred style, and the calendar event’s title, invitees and notes. Never the audio. It travels encrypted through our server to the AI provider that writes the result. Our server doesn’t store it; we only log the model used, the number of words processed (tokens), the cost and the time taken.
Your account. Your email address, your name if Apple or Google share it, how you signed in, and your plan, trial and payment status.
Usage statistics and error reports. Counts and settings, like “a meeting of 32 minutes was recorded” or “a summary was made”, plus errors and crash reports with the app version. They never include meeting content. They’re linked to a random ID for your Mac and, when you’re signed in, to your account. You can turn them off in Settings › Help.
Ratings. When you rate a summary with 👍 or 👎 and press Send, we receive the rating, the issues you ticked and any comment you write.
Update checks. Once a day Naro checks trynaro.com for a new version. Like any website, our host sees your IP address.
3. Why we use it
- To give you the service: sign-in, your plan, and cloud summaries.
- To keep it working and fair: fix errors, prevent abuse and apply the fair-use rule.
- To improve Naro, using usage statistics and ratings, never meeting content.
- To send you sign-in codes and important account messages. No marketing emails unless you joined the waitlist or ask for them.
We never sell your data, never use it for advertising, and never use your meetings to train AI.
4. Who helps us run Naro
These providers process data on our behalf, under their own security and privacy terms:
- Anthropic (United States): writes cloud summaries and answers. Under its commercial terms, it doesn’t train on this data and keeps it only for a short time.
- Supabase (United States): our server, accounts and database.
- Resend (United States): sends sign-in codes by email.
- Apple and Google: only if you sign in with them.
- Paddle (United Kingdom): handles payments as Merchant of Record. Your card details go to Paddle, never to us.
- Netlify (United States): hosts this website and app updates.
- Loops (United States): our waitlist, only if you join it.
Some of these providers are outside your country. When we transfer data, we rely on their contractual safeguards.
5. How long we keep it
- Account data: while your account is open. We delete it within 30 days after you ask us to close your account.
- Usage statistics, error reports and cost logs: up to 24 months.
- Payment records: as long as tax law requires (kept by Paddle).
- Data on your Mac: until you delete it, or according to your audio setting.
6. Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, to object to how we use it, or to get a copy of it. In Mexico these are your ARCO rights; in the EU and UK, your GDPR rights. Write to hello@trynaro.com and we’ll answer within 20 business days. You can also complain to your data protection authority.
7. Security
Data is encrypted in transit. Sign-in tokens are kept in your Mac’s Keychain. Access to our systems is limited to what’s needed to run Naro. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we’ll tell you without undue delay.
8. Children
Naro isn’t meant for anyone under 18, and we don’t knowingly collect their data.
9. Changes
If we make important changes, we’ll tell you in the app or by email before they apply. The date at the top shows the latest version.
